Passenger reviews out of total 3,168 passengers who traveled with us on this route.

At 12Go our operators offer three types of service:

Cheap, Fast, Good - but you can usually pick only two of them!
Cheap & Fast won’t be Good. (e.g. buses from/to Khao San Road, local buses or 3rd class trains)
Cheap & Good won’t be Fast. (e.g. VIP trains in Thailand)
Fast & Good won’t be Cheap. (e.g. private limousine services, or VIP24 buses vs Express buses)

Make your choice! Please remember that while we are closely monitoring the services, we are still an agency marketplace. That means we focus on ticketing services and route availability & coverage rather than on the factual seat reclining angle you will get on the bus today.

The bus is quite “snug” and we brought sleeping bag liners which I highly recommend and a pillow. (And if you can be smaller than 5’8” that would be a bonus too

Many creatures, from cockroaches to mice.. It was kinda difficult to sleep when you knew they were around. Anyways, the train was perfectly om time, both at the departure and arrival.

Beds were clean and the train was on time. However, i was forced to leave my booked bed on the bottom level for a less comfy one in the middle by the people working in the train (who don't really speak English). Furthermore the AC wasn't strong enough to cool down the room, which forced us to leave the door to the corridor open to gain air circulation in exchange for much noise

The Noise from the broken (stuck open) doors between carriages was annoying. Beds were comfy on this service, but l needed my own blanket as the 1 sheet provided was not enough for the cold aircon

I found 12go very easy to use & tickets came quickly. We found our platform without any problems. Looked at a few carriages & found what we thought were the 1st class sleepers. However we were directed to carriage 11 (this was also on our paperwork). The cabin was clean & we had plenty of room for our luggage. As we got settled into our beds & train started moving we realized it was going to be a long night. Mattresses are pretty thin! When I went to use the bathroom an old Vietnamese man was sat in the corridor on a beach chair smoking ???? which filled the entire cabin! So I’m struggling to see how this was 1st class? Staff spoke very little English Which I can deal with but they seemed no where to be found when we needed them. There seemed to be a lot of confusion on if in fact passengers had the correct seats/beds & very little assistant offered!

The train was loud (both from people and from the train itself - doors, tracks, etc) but the beds were comfortable enough. It started out cold and then warmed up. The train originates in Hanoi where we got on, yet someone had obviously already been sleeping in one of our berths. Not sure how that happens and it was vacant when we boarded the train 35 minutes prior to departure.

Overnight ride on SE19. Not as bad as expected according to the previous comments. Toilets were not very clean but not too bad either,...however train was only partially full. We had no trouble with exceptional noise levels or blaring music. The food was not overpriced and certainly the breakfast ban my was delicious, and delivered on time. Dinner choices were few. Beds on this first class sleeper were firm to hard, as usual, clean linen. Overall good value for money.

This was supposed to be first class, but other compartments looked better and newer. Next tot that, with a family of four, we did not have our own compartment, since nobody wanted to move from a lower bed to a higher bed (only one lower bed left when I booked). I slept fine in a high bed.

The entire bogie was quite old and didn't have any charging point in my compartment. The bogie made quite too much of noise when the train was moving. It felt as if the nuts and bolts were almost coming off. You may want to improve these things.

Great value for money. Toilets are not that great (but toilet paper is available at any time). Be prepared for that. Snacks can be bought on board. Matress are not super comfortable, but will do the job quite well for a few hours of sleep. All sheets are clean. Staff cannot expected to speak English.

beds are a bit small especially compared to other trains such as the one going to Sapa... if you are 1.90 I would not reccomend this especially if you get the top berth ( I am 1.67 so was perfectly ok, my boyfriend 1.80 could just abt fit) train was clean... AC a bit too cold at times and there were loads of children.... and oh well a 10h journey with children is too relaxing ahaba... but all in all I would take it again....

The train left and arrived on time and was pretty clean. It's a good, cheap way to get to Dong Hoi. The train is very bumpy and noisy so I didn't get much sleep but the bunks were comfortable enough and I think it's still preferable to getting a night bus.

Trip SE19 1st Class, soft beds! Hanoi to Dong Hoi No the beds are very hard (I have just spent 4 nights in a stilt house sleeping on a ultra thin materess on the floor, luxury compared to these beds), they feel like PVC coated slabs of concrete. The train is very noisey and you will be bounced around all night. Then an emergency stop in the middle of the night, lots of doors slaming open, then they deceided to turn off the AC without telling anybody, 4 people in a small cabin with no ventilation, no windows to open. Apart from that, the coach has been recently refitted, 2 x toilets (a little on the smelly side but not that bad), a lack of toilet paper and no hand towels. 1 x sink and 1 x hot water boiler for drinks or noodles. The train arrived 20 minutes early with no anoucment (you need google maps to give you an idea of where you are, data required). The train did stay in Dong Hoi station for around 15 Minutes. If I was to do the trip again, I would save my money and opt for a luxury Sleeper Coach.
