Trip started 45 minutes late. This bus made frequent stops to deliver packages all night long, but never stopped for a toilet break. When we asked if there was going to be one, the driver just sent us to the side of the road and made us use a bush toilet. The bus finished its route in Lao Cai (an hour north of Sapa) and everyone was told to get off but there was no communication about the fact that a van would be taking us the rest of the way, so we were left to panic for a while before finally figuring out what was happening.
