About Win Poo Yai Piak

The two principal things which make travelling by van so attractive are a wide choice of destinations and affordable prices. Not all vans offer top comfort, enough legroom, or luggage space, but these two points compensate. Besides, it is always vans that launch new routes to emerging destinations paving the road to big bus operators if necessary or remaining the only means of transport to bring you there. Very often, vans offer faster service than big buses, more flexible timetable, and more readily adapt to travellers’ needs in the sense of schedule – if there is a temporary growth in demand due to long weekends or national holidays, vans add more vehicles to their daily fleet easier than other operators. Note though that sometimes vans operate from their own van stations or terminals or have a dedicated section in bigger bus terminals. Always check your van's departure and arrival point as it is not necessarily located at the main bus station.

Win Poo Yai Piak is one of the operators to check if you are going to travel by van. They provide reliable van service and offer tickets with easy and secure online booking.

Win Poo Yai Piak Ticket Prices & Van Classes

Opposite to trains or bigger buses, vans rarely offer you a choice of ticket class. All the seats are the same – call it standard, VIP, or whatever. What can differ, though, is the type of the van itself. Some vans seat only 9-10 passengers. For travellers this means wider seats, more space, and a more comfortable trip. Vans which accommodate up to 15 passengers are also ok but be ready to sacrifice on space for your legs and elbows and very often – for your luggage, too. Sometimes it can be a good idea to buy two seats instead of one to ensure a more comfortable ride – yet it pays to check with the operator if they allow this on your route. Before you book your van ticket, read reviews on Win Poo Yai Piak van service to see what to expect.

Travel by Van: Pros & Cons

Pros of VanTravel

  • Vans can be the only way to reach some of the most remote destinations, smaller towns or villages which are connected neither by big buses nor trains.
  • Vans can also take you to some islands connected with the mainland by large car ferries which do not take big buses but take vans on board, too.
  • Due to a smaller size compared to big buses, vans are more maneuverable on the road. It sometimes results in shorter travel time, especially if your destination is not far away.
  • While vans do have an official stop enroute, they can also get you off at a more convenient point – no need to go to the terminal, just ask your driver. Note that it is not always possible, but in many cases, they will cooperate. It can save you both time and money you would have otherwise spent getting off the terminal on foot or by taxi.

Cons of Van Travel

  • Vans accommodating more passengers may feel quite cramped. Expect limited space for your legs and elbows. Some vans limit the luggage for one ticket to one piece. If you have more bags, suitcases, or backpacks, you may be asked to buy a separate ticket for your luggage, which makes the trip twice as expensive.
  • Not all vans run on schedule. On certain routes, vans leave only when full. Do check it with your operator before buying your ticket, otherwise, you may end up waiting much longer than expected until the van fills up.
  • If there are more reckless drivers on any other means of transport than on vans, we are unaware of it. Some companies install speed control units on their vehicles, but it is not a rare case to hear this unit beeping the whole trip through with the driver not paying attention to it. Always remember to buckle your seatbelt while travelling by van. Though sometimes you will need to make an investigation to find out where your seatbelt is.
  • For those prone to motion sickness there is a good piece of advice: take your medicine half an hour before your van trip, especially if your route includes winding stretches. You are more likely to feel motion sick travelling by van than by bus.

I was scammed! I called the hotline number on my ticket to see if the van could pick me up in cha-am on the way to Bangkok from Hua Hin. The women said yes and scheduled a time for me and my friend to be ready and waiting for the van. But no van shows up. It was the woman from the hotline in her own car. She takes us to a hua hin stop and tells us we owe 500bhat for the ride! Then she and the operator at the stop tried taking our paper tickets to make it look like we had just purchases tickets when we already had. SCAM! Do not right with them or take any hotel pickups they offer you :(

The Win Poo Yai Piak waiting area shown on the booking was not in service. It was actually barricaded and appears not to have been used for quite some time. There was no bus during the time of departure with no warning from the operator. I was finally transferred to another operator 2 hours after I was supposed to depart and only after making several calls to the operator. I would never use Win Poo Yai Piak ever again.

The terminal was unmarked and it was challenging to find the pick-up location. Only after several phone calls to the operator did someone meet us at the terminal and escort us on foot to another location. It was confusing and stressful.

Decent transport to Hua Hin. The van was air conditioned and our driver reliable. About half way there we had to pull off the highway as our break started to fail, and the driver got us safely to a parking lot and within about an hour he had mechanics replace the breaks and we were back on our way. He bought everyone water and made sure we had access to bathrooms while we waited. We arrived safely so all good!

Got different operator. There is no comprehensive explanation because mostly their staff can not speak in English. Also driver was driving very fast. Too fast maybe, unsafe one.

Hard to find the counter because there is no sign in English/Alphabet, have no space for luggage, and many times to drop in and off, either people or things.

I had to pay 230 thb for my suitcase! There was a family with 2 kids they had to pay for 4 extra chairs for their luggage! Private taxi was cheaper. Never had this before in Thailand! Shame on you!!

Shuttle was 20 Minutes too late at departure and we had to get off the bus somewhere else as booked. But the driver can not speak English, so we had no chance to explain him the problem.

So many stops, picking up ppl and dropping them off along the way. Felt like a local bus service rather than a private van.

The ride was not comfortable, but there were only the two of us in the middle of the trip, so it was not cramped and it was ok. We were made to pay the cost of our suitcases as a seat fee for one person. If the bus was full, we would not have been able to board, so I would have liked to have received information in advance. The reception desk is a stall, which is confusing if it is your first time.

I was booked for 4PM and was offered an earlier departure which I accepted. The trip was comfortable and there was a bathroom break thankfully. However, when he stopped for gas, he asked the passengers for gas money. Why are the passengers having to give money? Isn't the price of the ticket understood to have included gas? Why am I supposed to give him money when I paid on-line? I did not give him any money. There were non-Thai speaking people in the van who did. Is this a scam? Do you not give your drivers money for gas????? This has never happened before . I would suggest you look up the driver that left from Huahin, in front of the Market Village at 3PM on Sunday, the 18th. I think he got quite a tip. Thank you, Phyllis Orofino

When I got to the bus station nobody could tell me where to get the van that I booked on line. They sent me to the the ticket office to buy a ticket. When that was resolved my van was overbooked. So I had to get in a different van. Then I had to get someone to shout to the driver that I needed a bathroom break while frantically repeating pee and pointing to my vagina. More importantly got there safely and dry.
