Great easy experience. The train was comfortable and second class soft seats were good with good leg room! Air con was fine also. Lots of nibble trolleys came through the carriage

Very scenic; Nice ride; very comfortable and cheap. But train toilet looked unreliable; and train departed about 20 mins late and arrived even further behind schedule.

Beautiful scenery over the hills between Da Nang and Hué. The beds in sleeper are small otherwise a pleasant journey.

We had two soft beds in a first class sleeper cabin from Da Nang to Hue. Glad it was a short trip - the train was loud, bumpy, dirty, and our one other cabin mate facetimed someone loudly for the first hour. Halfway through the trip, the guard stopped by. I thought he was going to check our tickets, but instead he climbed into the bunk above me and took a nap. At the end of the trip, the blankets were folded up and placed back on the dirty sheets that don't ever seem to be changed. I had low expectations based on reading other reviews, but was hoping for something slightly better from first class.

The train was smelly and stuffy, bathrooms were questionable. Pretty standard for Vietnam travel-but the views of beaches along the wya were nice.

Sleeper bus was bunk-bed style relaxing chairs. Good for our 3 hour drive but not sure I would want longer as they are not really built for westerners! On time service so can't really complain.

Stay calm and it'll all fall into place. You have an assigned seat and the trains are cool. The views are spectacular! I've never seen anything like it.

This was our third journey on Vietnam Railways within the last month, and it was pretty much as expected. The carriage we were in was relatively new as it was fitted with electric doors and hand driers, which were nice additions. The comfort and cleanliness were OK, however, the fact that the train departed nearly 2 hours late detracted from the overall experience.

It was overall an okay experience, but a few things made it hard to really enjoy it. First, they didn't turn on the AC until everybody boarded and it was ridiculously hot. Second, they played super annoying and loud music throughout the ride. Third, we found a cockroach on our seat. Given that though, the view was very nice and the AC was perfect throughout, not too cold and not too hot.

The train was delayed by 2 hours. There were Vietnamese and English announcement 5 minutes before the actual departure. The top bunk was tiny, luckily I am small and the pillow and blanket was clean. The toilet was sub-standard (smelly and no toilet paper) but that's to be expected. Loud music plays to wake passengers for their stop and someone also comes by to wake you.
